Internships are structured with flexible durations and based in Singapore (for Southeast Asia). Candidates are expected to fulfill all conditions expected of a Venture Capital Analyst Intern.

Avryl was tasked to work on a new thematic fund focused on the opportunities in emerging economies and sectors.

I was tasked with big responsibilities from the beginning which pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me everyday. I built industry insights, professional skills, and invaluable relationships.

She was also responsible for the development of a new acceleration programme, and the execution of community outreach.

Xander conducted research for a thematic fund and oversaw its marketing and outreach efforts.

Real responsibilities from day one provided extensive exposure and enabled my significant growth. Working on meaningful projects, and collaborating with experienced professionals, offered invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship.

He was part of the launch conceptualisation and execution for a portfolio company. He was also responsible for community engagement.

Jazlynn refreshed internal standard operating procedures to take into account new tools, efficiency, and the geographical spread of the team.

Challenged with many real-world problems, the ball was in my court to chart my career. Working in such a fast-paced and dynamic team equipped me with hands-on experience and exposure into venture capital.

She was responsible for the development of a new acceleration programme. She was also instrumental in coordinating an annual team visit to a regional startup and innovation ecosystem.

Yin Shuen was responsible for planning and executing the front-end workflow of an AI startup she was seconded to. She designed, executed, and optimised landing pages for maximum conversion.

I gained valuable insights into the emerging and exciting AI sector.

She also conducted market research and competitor analysis to inform management and enhance the company’s competitive edge.

Running jump

Kampton conducted due diligence for an investment into a sustainability startup, and researched prevailing practices in privacy in venture capital.

Balancing a packed training and competition schedule with venture capital work stretched my limits. I gained insights into an emerging sector and created thought leadership on the crucial issue of privacy.

He also helped stakeholders of a charitable cause understand the different regulatory implications, developed a framework for working with a public agency on youth engagement, and executed marketing initiatives.

On a roll

Sean took on portfolio management for a thematic fund and oversaw the addition of new stakes to our positions in top-performing companies.

Despite coming from a non-finance background, I embraced as many tasks as I could to get up to speed quickly with the day-to-day challenges of managing a venture capital fund.

He managed relationships with founders at portfolio companies across Southeast Asia including negotiations for follow-on investments, consolidated reporting, and financial modelling, and in so doing ensured effective oversight of performance.

Double post

Htoo was tasked to complete the set up of a new thematic venture capital fund and the audit of a special purpose investment vehicle.

With so many moving parts in the set up of a new fund, it was a challenging experience and shaped my understanding of legal, finance, project management, and people relations.

He was also responsible for the execution of an accelerator focused on sustainable impact, and conducted due diligence and financial modelling of its startups to ensure compliance and outcomes that were satisfactory to stakeholders.

Consistency

Tessa focused on human capital, a career development that she was interested in, and created and implemented HR policies and procedures for the group.

I was tasked to evaluate and implement a consistent set of human capital policies across our international offices. The process involved multiple stakeholders and significant financial committment. It resulted in a human capital framework that was compliant with regulations and highly motivational for staff.

She took responsibility for employee orientation; created policies for staff travel; revamped policies for compliance and anti-money laundering; and was also instrumental in the planning of a visit to an international startup ecosystem to promote the portfolio.

Ziglar joined as a summer analyst and was promptly placed in charge of an accelerator focused on sustainable impact.

I was given many opportunities to stretch myself professionally across different projects. Whether startup-specific or ecosystem-wide, our work was challenging, impactful, and certainly meaningful.

He undertook due diligence and financial modelling of numerous startups, and was also instrumental in the planning of a flagship ecosystem-wide event that engaged the investment community across multiple countries in Southeast Asia.

Jaslyn’s first investment was a fintech startup in Indonesia where she drove the due diligence and investment process from start to finish. She subsequently drove the investment processes for many others.

I never thought I will be a part of the team igniting the financial empowerment of millions in Indonesia. The scale of our impact is tremendous if done right.

She took on responsibilities such as community services and family benefits that enabled portfolio companies to tap into best-in-class services economically. Juggling intensive sports and work, Jaslyn was also instrumental in the delivery of a national market access programme for Vietnam which garnered rave reviews from participants.

Tight shot

Benedict was put in charge of coordinating an important cross-border project with a public agency and a regional public counterpart. He took responsibility for the negotiations, resolved issues, and pushed the project to a successful launch.

Quest Ventures was my first full-time internship and it equipped me with valuable professional skills. I am grateful for the opportunities and trust afforded to me.

He also took on other responsibilities such as case analyses and preliminary due diligence for our investments into startups. Together with the team, he put together one of the largest community gatherings at Southeast Asia’s Silicon Valley – JTC LaunchPad @ one-North. As the first Sport Singapore intern we hired, he was instrumental in shaping HR policies on hiring and staff benefits for the Sport Singapore partnership with us.
