Elizabeth Tan is a Venture Partner, Sustainable Impact at Quest Ventures, a leading venture fund for technology companies that have scalability and replicability in large internet communities. Prior to this, she was the CEO of Heatwave Shoes, a fast-growing shoe retailer across Asia. She enjoys building businesses with social purposes and believes that business is a force for doing good.
As CEO of Heatwave Shoes, she transformed the company from a shoe manufacturer to a retailer with branding, franchising, and e-commerce. She grew the Singapore brand internationally to ten countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Dubai, Qatar and India.
Elizabeth is solving rural eye challenges as the co-founder of Sight to Sky, a non-profit organization for primary eye care and education in the most remote parts of the world. More than 15,000 patients across the Himalayan region have benefited from the network of social entrepreneurs working with her to transform the organisation into a sustainable social enterprise.
Elizabeth has been recognised as an SPH Singaporean of the Year, a Great Women of Our Time, a recipient of the ASEAN Women’s Entrepreneurship Network Award, and an honouree of Prestige Singapore’s 40 under 40.
Elizabeth is a Li Ka Shing Scholar for Masters of Public Administration at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, an alumni of the MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program, and has her B.A. in History from the National University of Singapore.
